This traditional cast iron hold down provides a fast, effective way to control stock on the bench top for carving, sanding, routing, or any chore where quick-release positive control is required. Just slip the 14" long shank into a 3/4" hole in the bench surface, set the large 2" x 2" pad (8" maximum reach) on the work and give the holdfast a smart rap to set it firmly in place. A light tap releases it instantly. It works in surfaces of 2" or greater thickness.

The post quickly mounts to most drill press tables or workbenches. On the drill press a bolt passes through the table and is secured with a large ring nut. Hardware is also provided to be used in 3/4" hole on your workbench to secure stock (photo above). Hold down pressure is provided by the cam action clamp on the head which features a 1-1/2" dia. rubber foot to help prevent marring your work piece.

Hold-down clamp rotates 360° around the holding bolt. When not in use the clamp slides of the bolt and the bolt drops below the surface. These have a distinct advantage over conventional clamps and vises which function only near the edge of a workbench or table.
